“2 Benefits of Removing Bad Oils From Your Diet”

By: Neomii Madison

What oils are considered bad oils? This is a question often asked in the media recently, due to current health trends. In this article I will give you two reasons why removing bad oils from your diet will benefit your health.

Oils that are considered bad are seed oils. Seed oils, are oils that are created from seeds through a chemical process that removes the seeds nutrients. Some of these common oils are Peanut oil, Canola Oil, Grapeseed Oil, and Sunflower Oil. Registered Dietitian, Jessica Clifford says, “ A common concern about seed oils is that they lead to unhealthy inflammation because they contain omega-6 fatty acids.” These acids when overly consumed can cause health problems such as arthritis and obesity.

Removing seed oils from your diet can help you manage the inflammation in your body. People who deal with arthritis for example could benefit the most from removing these oils. “ If you cut out seed oils by avoiding McDonald’s and cake and chips, you’re probably going to feel great,” says Director of Nutrition Studies Christopher Gardner.

Christopher Gardner also states, “People who feel better, lose weight, or have more energy after quitting seed oils are likely noticing the effects of eating a less processed diet.” The over consumption of processed food such as fast food or foods that are highly processed in factories are one of the main causes of obesity. This is due to the high amounts of seed oils used to cook and process the foods.

In short, bad oils also known as seed oils when overly consumed cause inflammation and obesity in our bodies. When you remove them from your diet you can help lower the inflammation in your body, lose weight, have more energy, and overall feel better.
